Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film Rana, in which he is slated to play a triple role, has been the talk of the town ever since the film was announced by the producers, Ocher Studios (owned by the star’s daughter, Soundarya) and Mumbai-based Eros International. The movie is being directed by K. S. Ravikumar and A. R. Rahman will compose the music.
While Deepika Padukone has been confirmed for the role opposite the youngest Rajini, Rekha will be paired with the older version of the superstar. While it was earlier reported that Asin had been approached by the makers and that she had agreed to be a part of the film, but the actress might have to drop out as the dates are clashing with her already-committed Bollywood film Housefull 2. Sources say that Vidya Balan is Rajini’s next choice to play opposite his middle aged avatar as the two bonded well at a recent event in New Delhi.
