She is currently on the board of The San Diego Natural History Museum, The San Diego Zoological Society and The Mingei International Museum. In 2007, her family's foundation donated as much as $1.6 billion to various charities.

Alice Louise Walton was born in 1949 in Arkansas. She is the daughter of Sam Walton, the founder of Wal-Mart, and thus an heiress to the Wal-Mart fortune. Alice Walton graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Her main philanthropic activity is being on the board of the Walton Family Foundation.
